Long Form Resume:

A Bit About Me

I was born and raised in Laredo, Texas, and am currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Communication and Leadership, along with a Bridging Discipline Certificate in Digital Arts and Media, at the University of Texas (UT) at Austin. I currently serve as a multimedia journalist intern at Austin Woman Magazine, and as a student technology assistant at the Liberal Arts Instructional Technology Services (LAITS) department at UT Austin.

Though I’ve always appreciated storytelling, I didn’t consider it as a career path until the summer before my junior year of college. But once I was introduced to the infinite possibilities that the media industry can provide me, I was immediately hooked. With so many captivating mediums to explore, however, I couldn't settle on just one. Instead, I’ve focused on building a diverse skillset that will allow me to succeed across various platforms.

My current position and time at The Division of Student Affairs at UT Austin, TSTV, The Daily Texan, Burnt X Orange Magazine, SPARK Magazine, LAITSEASTside Magazine and my experience in Ireland with Donna DeCesare have all played a pivotal role in shaping my current abilities. In addition to providing me with useful technical skills, my experiences have intensified my desire to find and share stories that deserve to be heard.

I conduct myself with empathy, an open mind and curiosity along with professionalism while on the job. I have a lot to contribute to the teams I work with, but I also have a lot to learn. I hope to continue making connections within the media industry and strengthening my storytelling abilities throughout my professional career through the opportunities I will earn in the future.
